South Africa to Brazil – Exciting Non-Stop Flights in 2023

The South African international travel network is expanding once again. A non-stop flight from South Africa to Brazil is on the cards for the near future.

The LATAM Airlines Group has announced that it will relaunch the flight service between Johannesburg and São Paulo in July 2023.

This service will allow travellers to fly from OR Tambo International to São Paulo Guarulhos International in just 9 hours. The route will include three weekly flights on a Boeing 787-9 aircraft.

Reconnecting South Africa to Brazil after the pandemic

Before the pandemic disrupted international travel, there were about 43 weekly flights connecting the African continent with South America. At this stage, the only option available to South Africans is onboard Taag Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines.

Brazil Entry Requirements

International tourists from any country in the world are allowed to enter Brazil. South African passport holders do not require a visa. Visa-free entry into Brazil is valid for 90 days.

COVID Regulations

International travellers must provide the following:

* Proof of vaccination in printed or electronic form

* Proof of a negative antigen test or RT-PCR taken one day prior to boarding
